It all started in July 2007, when our Founder, Conor, received the gift of a laptop on his 9th birthday. Realizing shortly after that it didn’t cost money to “subscribe” to a channel, Conor became intrigued with YouTube as a platform – consuming content from the likes of Fred Figglehorn, Shane Dawson and many others. Conor soon started creating content himself, trying to build an audience – mainly anything and everything soccer related.
Centus was founded in May 2013, with the goal to help YouTubers grow and to make money from ads on their content.
In 2015, aged 17, Conor successfully pitched to his parents via a Powerpoint Presentation to drop-out of high-school so he could go “all-in” on Centus. In the months after, Centus signed various creators to its roster, doing its first “brand deal” with a Korean cosmetics business, LANEIGE, in October 2015.
In early 2017, off the back of some successful side projects helping user acquisition teams at burgeoning Direct to Consumer brands, Conor realized Centus could actually help more creators by focusing his efforts on helping brands.
So, Centus decided to focus its efforts working on behalf of brands, initially helping disruptive brands like Skillshare, Honey, quip and Dollar Shave Club build their influencer programs.
Centus and its impact grew quickly, driving millions of dollars in trackable sales, supporting hundreds of creators every month, all while building a team and starting an office in Galway, Ireland.
Centus has helped over 150 leading brands in building their influencer programs, driving hundreds of millions of dollars in trackable sales, while paying out over $100m to 5,000 independent content creators.
Centus has an enthusiastic team of specialists who are experts in building successful customer acquisition programs with influencers, while ensuring creators are consistently receiving compelling opportunities for partnerships.
Centus is one of the leading influencer marketing agencies helping brands. It is on track to continue helping the largest brands build successful influencer programs over the coming years, all while supporting independent creators to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
